Biography

Perry Grant is a professional Singer, Pianist and stage and variety entertainer who has experience in every kind of entertainment in show business . From headline theater and Cabaret performances to intimate Piano Bar and lounge venues. With over 23 years entertaining in the Cruise Line industry and before that many years entertaining with residencies at some of the worlds most famous and prestigious venues.

A unique style, personality and presentation and repertoire sets him apart from the rest and has been delighting audiences around the world for years. This has been proven by his large fan base which have followed him on countless Cruise ships and venues,. Many only booking their cruises if he is entertaining on a specific ship regardless of the destination ...something that is unique only to him and no other entertainer on the high seas today.

This of course translates into high revenue for any venue or cruise ship, Hotel or resort where he is entertaining. A Piano Bar which is always packed to capacity with standing room only crowds and Stage and cabaret shows with top of the line musical band arrangements, Perry is the ideal entertainer for your venue. With good, clean wholesome fun and great music which will appeal to every generation to the very young and not so young.

Private events and parties which Perry has been engaged to entertain have included such notables as Princess Diana and Charles Prince of Wales, Malcome and Steve Forbes and the Guiness Family. Perry has completed over 7 world cruises and "grand voyages for various Cruise Lines including Holland America Lines and Raddisson.

Perry has worked and accompanied some notable Hollywood MGM legends including Ann Miller, June Allyson, Debbie Reynolds, Jane Powell. Perry's TV appearances include the BBC soap "Eastenders" and Bergerac and other notable tv appearances.

Perry's Hotel & Bar residencies include the famous "Jules Bar" in Jermyn Street London, The Park Lane Hotel Piccadilly , The Dorchester, The Hyde Park Intercontinental Hotel London. Perry resides in Ft Lauderdale Florida.

Perry Grant was born in London but has dual nationality USA and British. He began in showbusiness when he was a child and turned fully professional at the age of sixteeen.

In 1979 he was taken under personal management by Manya Leigh,the wife of the famous British orchestra and band leader "Geraldo " who ran a well known entertainment agency in London and was signed to them for nearly ten years. They controlled the music and entertainment for most of the famous Hotels and Venues in London at that time Manya Leigh placed him as the resident entertainer in some of London's most prestigious hotels and venues including The Dorchester ( the Terrace room ) Park Lane Hotel and the Hyde Park Intercontinental Hotel ..and Jules Bar in Jermyn street ( now sadly closed ).

These venues led to hundreds of private parties and cabaret engagements.

• Selected by Claridges Hotel to perform before Princess Diana & Charles
• Forbes Magazine annual party at Old Battersea House ( 4 years running ) attended by Malcome and Senator Steve Forbes
• Lady Maureen Duffrin Guiness 80th birthday party ..The Mirabel Restaurant Belgravia London
• Parties for Lou Grade and Sir Bernard Delfont at their London residencies .
• Hundreds of notable cabaret engagements include The Miss Saigon and Aspects of Love charity Dinners at Claridges and Savoy Hotels

His career began with a fluke incident ....Filling in for one night at Jules Bar a very famous cocktail Bar / Restaurant when the resident pianist fell ill he landed the full time residency their after the Pianist passed away the following day. He ended up staying there for over 4 years with a stella cliental it launched a career which is still forging ahead ! " By a very unfortunate fluke i was playing and singing in one of the most famous venues in London at the age of 18."

I was so young and naive i had no idea that the tall American gentlemen i was joking with was the former Vice president of the United states Spiro Agnew. We would get the truly truly famous coming in ,,,an amazing lucky experience i would play, sing watch the people carefully how they acted and learned how to present myself.

Next came residencies at the Park Lane Hotel Piccadilly ( 3 years ) It was the last privately owned hotel in London at that time ..The Carr family were wonderful interesting kind people to me.

Then i moved on to the Hyde Park Intercontinental Hotel ...( soufle lounge and restaurant ) there were also periods where i would do cabaret at other venues for Geraldo ...ie a month cabaret at the Dorchester Terrace room and also The Hyatt Carlton Tower. Acting appearances during these years included BBC's Eastenders and Bergerac.

By 1989 the USA was calling me back and several offers were coming in from the Pierre Hotel in New York and the new blossoming Carnival Cruise lines . However it was Princess cruises new Star Princess launching that finally persuaded Perry to uproot a successful land based career and start a new life . "i planned to leave for two months and never went back to the UK and returned permanently to the US."

The cruise line industry was evolving into big business and Princess cruises wanted me! It started a new life of super line cruising ...glamourous , exciting and wonderful.

A new career was launched 3 years with Princess cruises ( 1990 -93) ...then ten years with Holland America Lines (1993-2003) Holland America Cruise Lines gave me the chance to experience over 7 world cruises and create a fan base that has lasted to this day and the opportunity to go to every part of the world and see places and countries you had previously only dreamed about.

Leaving HAL in 1993 I was approached by Celebrity Cruise lines to be part of their permanent line up of feature entertainers . Joining the Constellation in 2003 brought endless fun filled nights in their famous Michaels club and because of the internet evolving brought me new publicity . Great nights in the theater brought memories that will never be forgotten.

But the most amazing thing was the fan base that Celebrity bought me. A yearly "Perry Grant reunion fan club cruise" was created and has met every February attendance getting bigger and bigger each year .

After ten years on the Constellation doing consecutive contracts in Jan 2013 i moved to the Celebrity Eclipse entertaining in the huge Sky lounge at the top of the ship and evening theater Headline shows. To fill the Sky lounge to capacity every night was beyond my wildest expectations and again the crowds were unbelievable in their response.

At the time of writing I am continuing with the Celebrity Eclipse and look forward to continuing this amazing and fulfilling journey. The amazing loyalty of the fans who come to see me entertain year after year without fail ..many have become dear friends ...some we have unfortunately lost but they will always be with us.
